FIFA World Cup 2026 Toronto Fan Festival
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Toronto Fan Festival brought together thousands of workforce, contractors, partners, performers and stakeholders requiring controlled access across the event footprint at Fort York and The Bentway. The accreditation operation required a combination of system configuration, data management, credential production and on-site delivery through the dedicated Accreditation Centre at Fort York Armouries.Wiz-Team engaged IGNITX to support the delivery of the accreditation function using Event-Works, providing experienced accreditation leadership and operational expertise from planning through Games-time operations. The project was delivered in a fast-changing environment, with evolving client requirements, stakeholder responsibilities and operational processes requiring the team to continuously adapt while maintaining service delivery.
What we did
- Supported the planning and delivery of the end-to-end accreditation function in partnership with Wiz-Team, including Event-Works parametrisation, accreditation workflows and operational procedures.
- Provided experienced Accreditation Lead, Manager and Supervisor resources to support remote planning and on-site operations.
- Managed Accreditation Centre operations including workforce coordination, credential production, distribution, equipment management and operational issue resolution.
- Supported accreditation data processing, approval workflows, updates, replacements and reprints while maintaining appropriate data privacy procedures.
- Coordinated accreditation requirements with FIFA, City of Toronto stakeholders, security, volunteers and other functional areas.
- Responded to changing operational requirements and last-minute production demands.
Results
- Successfully delivered the accreditation operation despite evolving scope, changing stakeholder responsibilities and a challenging operational environment.
- Maintained an operational Accreditation Centre throughout the event period, supporting credential production, distribution and stakeholder servicing.
- Adapted quickly to significant last-minute changes.
- Supported effective coordination between Wiz-Team, FIFA, City of Toronto stakeholders, security and the local accreditation workforce.
- Completed the project successfully, with the debrief confirming that the operation was delivered and the client was satisfied with the overall outcome.
