The Sports Events Management (SEM) Course 2025, organised by IGNITX, concluded on 27 September 2025, marking the end of an inspiring three-week journey of learning, exchange, and collaboration. Conducted fully online, the course united participants and instructors from across the world — representing four continents and multiple nationalities — in a shared mission to deepen their expertise in the planning and delivery of international sporting events.

Designed to build a comprehensive understanding of how sport events are delivered from concept to legacy, the programme featured 15 sessions, over 40 hours of online classes and dynamic interaction, covering the full spectrum of event management. From foundational planning, sustainability, and venue operations to client experience, safeguarding, and innovation, participants were guided by a lineup of 19 course instructors — experienced professionals who have contributed to some of the world’s most significant sporting events.

The course brought together an equally diverse cohort of participants, comprising professionals and emerging leaders in sport from Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America. This global mix of perspectives enriched every session, creating a collaborative learning environment where experiences and best practices were exchanged across cultures and disciplines.

Participant Feedback and Learning Impact

The 2025 edition received very positive feedback from participants, with survey results reflecting both the quality of instruction and the relevance of the course content.

Participants appreciated the diversity of topics, the clarity of instruction, and the strong link between theory and real-world application. The online format — combining live sessions, collaborative activities, and on-demand access to materials — was recognised for its flexibility and accessibility across time zones.

Beyond the ratings, participants shared that the course helped them gain a clearer understanding of how different functional areas in sport events interconnect, strengthened their skills in operational and strategic planning, and provided practical insights from professionals with hands-on event experience. Many also valued the opportunity to connect with peers and experts from around the world, creating an environment where diverse perspectives contributed to deeper learning.

Participants also offered constructive feedback for future editions — suggesting longer sessions for selected topics, more small-group discussions, and follow-up workshops focusing on areas such as media operations, marketing, and technology. These reflections will guide the continued development of the Sports Events Management Course, ensuring it remains relevant and valuable to a global community of sport event professionals.

The course stood out for its international spirit, as well as the professionalism and diversity of its speakers. The topics covered were insightful and shed light on crucial aspects of sports event organisation, examining them from an insider's perspective and anchoring each subject in real-world scenarios. The speakers’ expertise and experience greatly enriched every discussion.
